31 July 2024 - All three of South Africa’s swimmers in action at the Olympic Games in Paris on Wednesday night progressed to their respective finals with Tatjana Smith taking a step closer to completing her quest for double gold in the French capital.

29 July 2024 - Tatjana Smith stormed to Team SA’s first medal in the Olympic pool in Paris on Monday night, claiming gold in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:05.28.

28 July 2024 - Both Tatjana Smith and Pieter Coetzé safely negotiated their way through their respective semifinals on day two of the swimming competition at the Olympic Games in Paris on Sunday, ensuring they’ll have a shot at reaching the podium in Monday’s finals.

27 July 2024 - Erin Gallagher was the only South African in action on the first day of the swimming programme at the Olympic Games in Paris on Saturday.

Frank van der Horst has undoubtedly been one of the greatest leaders of sport in our country, particularly during the dark era of Apartheid. He was a highly principled leader dedicated to the ethos of a non-racial society where all are equal and in the case of sport, access to equal resources and facilities for the development of potential in the spirit of true sportsmanship. There can be no question on van der Horst’s legacy on building sports organisations that transcends political beliefs, non-sexist, non-racial, driven by values-based leadership seeking a single identity for our nation. Frank’s passing is most certainly a huge loss and will leave a void as many have sought his wise council right up to him passing on Monday 8 July 2024. The President of Swimming South Africa pays tribute to Van Der Horst who had a particularly long association with the sport through his comradeship with Morgan Naidoo.
