WCED 2026 Grade 8 Applications
2026 Grade 8 Admissions are currently open.
Please note the following dates:
- 11 March - 15 April 2025: Grade 8 2026 applications open / closes.
- 16 April 2025 onwards - Applications received after 15 April 2025 will be considered a “Late Application”. Late Applications will only be processed after all applications received on time have been actioned and only if there are still places available.
- 16 April - 19 May 2025: Schools process grade 8 applications.
- 30 May 2025: WCED System displays the outcome of the grade 8 applications.
- 30 May - 10 June 2025: Parents are informed of the outcome on the WCED portal.
- 30 May - 17 June 2025: Parents confirm acceptance of the grade 8 placement on the WCED portal.

We encourage parents/guardians to complete our Expression of Interest form, which can be found here. Please email it to admissions@rhenish.co.za after you have completed your application on the WCED portal.
*Note that for Hostel applications, both the Expression of Interest form and a motivational letter are required after completing the WCED application.

Admissions are currently closed.
Please note the following dates:
- 04 August - 18 August 2025: System opens / closes for transfer requests.
- 19 August 2025 onwards - Applications received after 19 August 2025 will be considered a “Late Application”. Late Applications will only be processed after all applications received on time have been actioned and only if there are still places available.
- 19 August - 5 September 2025: Schools process transfer requests.
- 17 September - 19 September 2025: Parents are informed of the outcome on the WCED portal.
- 17 September - 30 September 2025: Parents confirm acceptance of placement on the WCED portal. - Please confirm within this period.
