On 7 February 2025, the Limpopo Department of Education, in a significant partnership with Thuto Trust, officially launched the Rural Education Teacher Internship project. This innovative initiative is designed to bolster the quality of education in rural areas by providing aspiring teachers with invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship. The launch event also featured a distinguished Excellence Awards ceremony, celebrating the remarkable achievements of student teachers participating in the Thuto Trust Extended Student Teacher Internship (ESTI) program. During the ceremony, exceptional individuals were recognized for their dedication, creativity, and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment in their communities.
