Partner Profiling: Numeric

Numeric is one of the implementing partners for the TICZA project.

Founded in 2011 by Andrew Einhorn with generous support from the David and Elaine Potter Foundation, Numeric was established to help young South Africans excel in mathematics. Motivated by concerns over poor matric maths outcomes and their impact on South Africa’s economic development, Einhorn and Potter initially explored online learning as a way to bring quality instruction to under-resourced communities.

Since then, Numeric has transitioned from an online model to delivering in-person after-school mathematics classes for Grade 7 learners, led by trained numeric coaches. These coaches are B.Ed student teacher interns participating in a year-long internship programme that offers classroom experience, training in maths content and pedagogy, individualized mentorship, and ongoing personal and professional development. Numeric is one of the implementing partners for the TICZA project.
