The African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), in collaboration with the Dullah Omar Institute at the University of Western Cape, will convene a seminar titled 'Coalition Governance in Western Cape Municipalities: A South African Blueprint?'

The seminar will bring together academics, think tanks, policymakers, civil society organisations, municipal officials, and representatives from key government institutions to discuss coalition governance across Western Cape municipalities. The seminar aims to identify best practices and strategies to facilitate stable coalition governance in South Africa while highlighting the challenges involved. The seminar forms part of ACCORD’s Contributing Towards Sustainable Coalitions at the Local Government Level in South Africa project, supported by the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa. The project consists of research and capacity-building components to contribute knowledge and conflict resolution skills towards more sustainable coalitions in the country.
