Women’s Day Message from the CEO
This day is not just a celebration of our achievements—it is a call to action. It reminds us of the brave women of 1956 who marched against injustice and inspires us to continue dismantling the systemic barriers that still deny women full equality and dignity.
At Soul City, we believe that true freedom for women means freedom from violence, economic inequality, discrimination, and harmful cultural norms. It means creating communities where women’s voices are heard, their rights are respected, and their leadership is recognised in every sphere of life.
We stand in solidarity with all women those raising families, leading businesses, shaping policy, healing communities, and fighting for justice. We also acknowledge the intersectional struggles faced by women living with disabilities, LGBTQI+ women, rural women, and young women whose potential is too often stifled by inequality.
On this Women’s Day, let us recommit to building a South Africa where gender justice is not an aspiration but a lived reality. Let us act boldly, speak out loudly, and work tirelessly because the liberation of women is the liberation of society itself.
To every woman: we see you, we honour you, and we will continue to fight alongside you.
In solidarity,
Phinah Kodisang
CEO
