Project Supervisors (x2) – Ekurhuleni East

Fixed Term Contract – To end August 2027 | Reporting to the Programme Officer

Job purpose

A Project Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of a youth programme. This includes planning and organising club activities, managing budgets, engaging with parents and stakeholders, and supervising Club Facilitators. The role ensures a safe, structured environment for participants and effective programme delivery.

Key responsibilities

Operational management

  • Manage the daily operations of the Rise clubs: scheduling, workshops, and engagements.
  • Supervise and mentor Club Facilitators, providing training and support.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and community partners to promote the programme.
  • Ensure safety policies are followed for all youth and staff.

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

  • Use data to monitor club impact and improve programme delivery.
  • Contribute to the planning of Rise club activities.

Programme planning & delivery

  • Design activities and workshops tailored to club members' needs.
  • Mentor and guide youth to support personal growth.
  • Facilitate club sessions that promote healthy living and social skills.
  • Create an inclusive space for all young people.
  • Maintain confidential club records and prepare reports.

Advocacy and referrals

  • Connect members with services like mental health support and bursaries.
  • Keep detailed records of referrals and incidents.
  • Collaborate with professionals (teachers, social workers, etc.) to support youth.

Club supervision and training

  • Recruit and manage club participants.
  • Assist with training, materials preparation, and event coordination.
  • Facilitate workshops in schools and communities.
  • Address bullying and discrimination firmly.
  • Act as a positive role model to youth.

Communication

  • Maintain open communication with youth and staff. Provide feedback and manage issues.

Safeguarding

  • Work with schools, community groups and police to ensure youth safety.
  • Report safeguarding concerns as appropriate.

Qualifications and experience

  • Matric required. Post-matric qualification advantageous.
  • Experience working with adolescents, especially girls and young women.
  • Minimum 2 years in community development or activism.
  • Understanding of advocacy and commitment to gender equality.

Competencies

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Team player with good initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of gender issues and advocacy in social change.
  • Familiar with NGO and CBO networks.
